Today we head towards the Tarangire National Park for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Tarangire is well known for its huge elephant population and baobab trees. It forms the centre of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest and 30,000 zebras.
Accommodation: Camping at Fanaka Campsite or similar (dome tent)
After coffee we head towards Lake Manyara National Park for an early morning game drive. This spectacular park is located at the north-western corner of Lake Manyara, a hallow soda lake, which lies at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. Manyara NP is not only known for its large flocks of flamingos, but also for the elusive tree climbing lions.
Accommodation: Camping at Fanaka Campsite or similar (dome tent)
Our journey starts shortly after breakfast with a scenic drive up the Rift Valley escarpment to Serengeti National Park. You will be crossing Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority and we make a brief stop at Olduvai Gorge and the museum (Option) which documents the discovery of 1.8 million year old human-like fossils. Thereafter we head for the Serengeti National Park, game driving along the way to the campsite.
Accommodation: Camping at Seronera Public Campsite or similar (dome tent)
Today you will enjoy a full day game viewing exploring the endless plains of this magnificent place. The Seronera River is the life blood of the Serengeti in the dry season and this area is renowned for great game viewing all year round and is especially popular for sightings of the elusive leopard.
Accommodation: Camping at Seronera Public Campsite or similar (dome tent)
We take an early breakfast at the camp and then head to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. On arrival we go through the registration process and descend to the floor of the world’s largest unbroken caldera for the most wonderful day of game viewing. We will have lunch at the designated picnic site at the side of the hippo pool and continue with a game drive as we drive up the crater rim for overnight.
Accommodation: Camping at Panorama Campsite or similar (dome tent)
After breakfast we explore the colourful town of Mto-wa-Mbu for some last minute pictures and curio shopping. Afterwards we head to Arusha where the tour will end at our offices. We hope to welcome you again on one of our African adventures!
